Field Days

Daylight programs for larger groups: a station-based company olympiad, and a family day with a parallel children's track run by its own hosts.

Field days are built around stations rather than a stage, so arrivals can be staggered and guests can join late. Every station is scored, and the scoring is deliberately soft.

The formatsin full.

Company Olympiad

A daylight program on ten stations: accuracy games, balance tasks, a relay, a tug line and a couple of absurd ones. Teams of eight rotate on a host's call, and the scoring is deliberately loose so that fitness is not the deciding factor.

Nothing requires sports gear and nothing is timed against a stopwatch in public. Guests can skip a station and still finish with a score.

What is included

  • Ten station kits with equipment, signage and scorecards for 12 teams
  • Four hosts and one coordinator for 4 hours of program
  • Gazebo 3 x 3 m, scoreboard 2 x 1.2 m, 80 team sashes in four colours
  • Battery PA for the briefing, rotations and the wrap-up, one microphone
  • First aid kit on site and a station layout plan agreed in advance

Adaptable inside this price: Station count moves between eight and ten depending on your area. The program runs indoors in a hall of 300 m2 with the throwing stations swapped out, at the same price.

Family Day Picnic

An afternoon with two tracks: six stations for adults and four supervised stations for children, each with its own hosts. The two tracks meet twice, once for a joint game and once for the wrap-up.

The children's track is staffed by two hosts for the whole program, which is the part most family days get wrong. Parents can leave the kids at the craft tent and go back to the adult stations.

What is included

  • Six adult stations and four children's stations with all equipment
  • Four hosts, two of them dedicated to the children's track, for 4 hours
  • Craft tent 4 x 4 m with materials for 40 children and two seated tables
  • Gazebo 3 x 3 m, bunting run of 30 m, 60 wristbands
  • Battery PA with one microphone and a soft music playlist

Adaptable inside this price: The split between adult and children's stations is set from your headcount. Face painting can replace one craft station, and the joint game can be dropped if you would rather keep the tracks separate.

How theseevenings run.

  1. Stations open on arrival

Guests pick up a scorecard at the gazebo and start at any station. No assembly, no queue.

  2. Hosts rotate the groups

Two to four hosts move groups along, so every station is used evenly across the program hours.

  3. Scores are read at the end

A short wrap-up at the gazebo, then the equipment comes down while your guests stay on.

Hosts and crew numbers are listed with each format above. One coordinator is on site for the whole programme, from bump-in to bump-out.

What the venueneeds for these.

  • An outdoor area of at least 600 m2, mown and reasonably level, or a hall of 300 m2.
  • One 230 V power point for sound, or tell us in advance and we bring a battery PA instead.
  • Vehicle access to within 30 m of the station area for unloading.
  • Shade, toilets and drinking water arranged by you or the venue.

Bump-in up to 3 hours before the event, bump-out within 1-2 hours after. Programme hours do not include either.

Programmes in this category are run for adult groups; where a format is part of a mixed event with a casino-styled zone, the 18+ limit applies to that zone.

Questions

Questions weget asked.

Do guests need to be fit?

No. The stations are accuracy, balance and judgement tasks rather than sport, scoring is loose, and a guest can skip a station and still finish with a score. Nothing is timed against a stopwatch in public.

Is the children's track actually staffed?

Yes, by two hosts for the full program, plus the craft tent with materials for 40 children. That is the part of a family day that usually falls over, so it is written into the format rather than offered as an extra.

What if there is no power on site?

Tell us when you enquire and we bring a battery PA instead of the mains system. Everything else in both field formats runs without power.

Ask abouta date.

Tell us the date, the venue and the headcount, and we will tell you which of these two fits.
