Puzzle Rooms

Smaller rooms, denser plots. A portable escape room built inside your venue, and a murder mystery where every guest holds one page of the story.

These formats work best for 20 to 60 guests. They are written for mixed groups: there is a reading track, a talking track and a puzzle track, so quieter guests still have a part to play.

The formatsin full.

Escape Room Event

We build a two-room escape set inside your venue, with real locks, a 55-minute clock and three acts that stack. Two identical runs operate side by side, so a group of 40 can go through in rotation without long waits.

A games master watches each run and gives hints only when a team asks. The format is fully co-operative: the clock is the opponent, not another team.

What is included

  • Portable set: two rooms of 18 m2 each, with partition walls 2.4 m high
  • Prop and lock set: 34 props, 11 physical locks, one electronic cue board
  • Two games masters plus one host for 3 hours of program
  • Countdown screen 55 inches and a hint channel for each run
  • Dressed waiting area with seating for 20 and a drinks table (drinks not included)

Adaptable inside this price: Difficulty is set from your brief: the same set runs as a light 35-minute version for mixed groups or as a full 55-minute version. A single-run build for 20 guests is available in the same price band.

Murder Mystery Night

A seated evening in three acts. Each guest receives a character card with one piece of information, and the plot can only be solved by talking across tables rather than within them.

Two actor-hosts carry the narrative and keep the pace between courses, so the format slots neatly around a dinner service. Guests who would rather listen than perform get a reading role instead.

What is included

  • Character pack for up to 60 guests, printed and personalised
  • Two actor-hosts and one coordinator for 4 hours of program
  • Set dressing: 24 props, three evidence tables, period signage
  • Eight LED uplight points and a 2 x 400 W PA with two microphones
  • Printed accusation forms, evidence board 1.5 x 1 m and the reveal script

Adaptable inside this price: The plot has a corporate and a 1930s variant at the same price, and the act breaks are timed to your catering schedule. Guest names go into the character pack if you send the list ten days ahead.

How theseevenings run.

  1. Setup is explained once

A host reads the premise in under five minutes, hands out roles, and answers questions before the clock starts.

  2. Two or three acts

Each act has its own props and its own deadline. Hosts give hints on request, never unprompted.

  3. The solution is read together

The group assembles the answer out loud. Guests keep their role cards afterwards.

Hosts and crew numbers are listed with each format above. One coordinator is on site for the whole programme, from bump-in to bump-out.

What the venueneeds for these.

  • A room that can be closed off, at least 80 m2, with the lighting under your control.
  • Two standard 230 V power points for props and lighting.
  • Tables and chairs for every guest: these formats are seated for most of the program.
  • A quiet enough room. The plot is read aloud, so a live band in the same space will not work.

Bump-in up to 3 hours before the event, bump-out within 1-2 hours after. Programme hours do not include either.

Programmes in this category are run for adult groups; where a format is part of a mixed event with a casino-styled zone, the 18+ limit applies to that zone.

Questions

Questions weget asked.

Do quiet guests have a role?

Yes, deliberately. Both formats have a reading track and a puzzle track alongside the talking track, so a guest can contribute without performing. Murder Mystery character packs include reading roles for exactly this reason.

How many guests fit?

The Escape Room Event runs for up to 40 guests in two parallel runs, and the Murder Mystery Night for up to 60 seated. Beyond those numbers the plot stops working, so we would suggest a different category rather than stretch it.

Can this run around a dinner service?

The Murder Mystery Night is written for it: three acts with breaks timed to your courses. The Escape Room Event is better before or after food, because the runs are on a clock.
